As a thank you to the volunteers who are performing in the IMM event, SISA gave the opportunity to these skaters to participate in an exclusive master class with the cast of The Imperial Ice Stars.

Organized by Marina Bay Sands and Base Entertainment, the master class was held on 30 August at the Grand Theater stage which has been converted into an ice-rink for Swan Lake on Ice.

The master class was taught by leading cast members: Andrei Penkine who plays Prince Siegfried & Olga Sharutenko who plays Odette the Swan Princess. Both skaters were highly decorated world class competitive skaters who became professional skaters upon joining the cast of The Imperial Ice Stars.

Andrei was so impressed with the dedication that the skaters had for the sport, he invited them back for 2 additional master classes. One class was held off ice on 1 September (because the ice-rink was melting!!) and another class was held on ice on 2 September.

SISA hopes the skaters enjoyed the class and got a dose of “Russian” training!  We hope to organize more of these classes in the future. We really appreciate the support that these volunteers have given to help SISA launch the SkateStar program and to raise awareness of ice skating in Singapore.
